Esalen® massage is a holistic bodywork approach developed at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California, known for its long, flowing strokes, gentle rocking and an emphasis on integrating our body, mind and spirit. 

A core principle of the practice for practitioners is grounding our selves to foster presence, which in turn helps our clients achieve deep relaxation and body awareness. 

When I approach the massage table I think of it very much like I am approaching my meditation cushion.
