Mid-Year Mindset Check-In

30/4/2025

A gentle pause to reflect, realign and keep growing

Here we are halfway through 2025 already - a perfect time to stop for a moment and really tune in to where we're at.

Did you start the year with any specific hopes or resolutions? Maybe you wrote them down, maybe they were just quiet intentions.

Either way, this is a gentle nudge to revisit what we'd set our heart on -

not from a place of pressure, but with abundant curiosity and spaciousness.

How’s your mindset holding up?
Mindset matters.

It moulds our life choices and our capacity to live our dreams.

It shapes how we respond to setbacks, unexpected detours, feedback from others and those moments when things feel just a little too uncomfortable.

Maybe you’ve come across the fixed mindset versus growth mindset formula before?

Here’s a quick refresher:

  • A fixed mindset tends to say things like “I’m just not good at this” or “That’s not really my thing.” It can show up as perfectionism, procrastination or playing it safe.
  • A growth mindset, on the other hand, is more likely to say “I’m still learning” or “This feels hard, but I know I’ll get through it.”

Say you wanted to build a daily meditation habit this year.

If it hasn’t stuck, a fixed mindset might say “I always fail at routines.” A growth mindset might say “I didn’t keep it up daily, but I learned that mornings work better for me than evenings.”

Neither mindset is “right” or “wrong”- we all live somewhere on a spectrum between the two and that’s completely normal.
Comfort zones vs growth edges
There’s a fine line between pacing our selves (which is healthy) and staying in our comfort zone just a little too long.

Growth isn’t always about big leaps - it’s often about small, courageous steps.

So, it can be useful to ask our selves:

  • Where have I stretched myself this year?
  • Where have I stayed with what's familiar because it felt safer?
  • Is there one area I could lean into a little more - even gently?

Maybe you wanted to launch a creative project but haven’t shared it publicly yet. The stretch might be emailing one trusted friend for feedback - or posting a tiny preview online.

Baby steps count.

Celebrate what’s already unfolded
Before jumping to what still needs to be done, it's good to take a moment to honour what has happened - big or small.

Maybe we’ve:

  • Set boundaries we hadn’t dared to set before
  • Learned something new (even if it was through trial and error :-)
  • Let go of something that wasn’t serving us
  • Taken care of our health in a deeper way
  • Shown up, even on the hard days

These are all wins. And they’re so worth celebrating.

Questions for our mid-year reset
Here are a few journaling prompts or conversation starters you might want to explore:

  • How have my horizons expanded this year - about myself, others or life in general?
  • Where has life taken me by surprise?
  • Have my goals and dreams shifted?
  • What does my heart truly want to focus on - or release - for the second half of this year?
No pressure, just presence
This check-in isn’t about fixing anything. It’s about listening. Noticing. Reflecting. Celebrating. Reconnecting.

And maybe, if it feels right... realigning.

We've made it this far and that's already a lot. So... happy checking in.
